2. CCSC Executive Board Endorsement: Open Columbia

*Having met with both groups running for the CCSC Executive Board, the Executive Committee of The Columbia Political Union announces its endorsement of the Open Columbia party.*

Our endorsement is limited to consideration of which candidates can best serve the interests of the CPU as a student group, and is based on the presentations made by both groups at our most recent Executive Committee meeting.

In addition to answering our follow-up questions thoughtfully and ably, Open Columbia delivered a cogent, concise, and well-planned presentation.   Their answers demonstrated a clear understanding of the activities, interests, and goals of our organization. We were also impressed by their program for improvement at the administrative level, which is backed by a strong history of leadership in extracurricular life and student government.

Most importantly, Open Columbia made clear their commitment to aiding student groups, including the CPU, in our efforts to enhance and expand our on-campus activities.  The CPU Executive Committee is committed to constantly improving the programming that we offer to our membership, and warmly welcomes the support that Open Columbia has pledged.

Ultimately, while both groups delivered excellent presentations, the CPU Executive Committee believes that Open Columbia is better suited to serve our organization and our membership.  We hereby endorse Open Columbia for the 2006-07 CCSC Executive Board.
