Open Election for CPU Treasurer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Since our former Treasurer is studying abroad, the Columbia Political Union must elect a new Treasurer. The Treasurer is a member of the Executive Committee, and is responsible for managing the CPU budget, leading petitions for additional funding, handling reimbursements, and making monthly reports to the Executive Committee. This semester, the Treasurer will also be responsible for organizing our fundraiser, to be held sometime in the spring. There are no official prerequisites for the Treasurer position, although those with previous experience in managing funds and/or working with the Student Governing Board or Activities Board are encouraged to apply. Candidates will be required to submit a written statement of no more than one page to the Executive Committee, explaining their interest in and qualifications for the position of Treasurer. Candidates will also be required to make a brief presentation to the members of the Executive Committee, who will then vote to elect the next Treasurer. **To express interest in this position, please email cpu@cupolitics.org by Friday, February 3rd at 9PM.** We will then contact you with information about the format and deadlines for the written statement and presentation.
