1. Lecture and Discussion with Congressman Charles Rangel TOMORROW

10/10 at 2:00 pm
Satow Room, Alfred Lerner Hall

Congressman Charles B. Rangel is serving his 17th term as the
Representative from the 15th Congressional District, comprising
East and Central Harlem, the Upper West Side, and Washington
Heights/Inwood. Congressman Rangel is the ranking member on the
Committee on Ways and Means, Deputy Democratic Whip of the House
of Representatives, a Chairman of the Board of the Democratic
Congressional Campaign Committee, Dean of the New York State
Congressional Delegation, in addition, Congressman Rangel is a
founding member and former Chairman of the Congressional Black
Caucus.

Likely topics of discussion include the upcoming local and national
elections, reinstituting the draft, and Columbia's expansion into
Manhattanvile.

campus in late October.

5. Connecting Your Political Science Degree With Life After
Graduation

10/15 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Room 517, Hamilton Hall

Learn about the different INTERNSHIPS related to Political Science
both within New York as well as outside the city; find out more
about the APPLICATION PROCESS through Columbia; know how to tap
into Columbia's Center for Career Education (CCE) resources; make
contacts with Political Science undergraduates who have had
internships in this field. CCE advisors will be present.

Also – free food and refreshments will be served.
